I create art with pastel, watercolor, charcoal, ink and other drawing media on paper. I depict horses with movement and energy. And with expressive eyes that reveal the character and personality of the horse
Buckskin Lusitano Stallion, pastel and charcoal drawing by Carol Engles
10 x 14 charcoal on paper. This is a drawing of our Peruvian stallion, Valeroso. I use Valeroso as subject matter for a lot of my equine art. I just change things a bit to make a different breed. Valeroso loves to play when he's turned out and especially likes to arch his neck and throw his front legs out and then takes off in a gallop. Even though, he's a gaited horse, he really likes to gallop.
